Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.

This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

Still wild to me that so many "savvy" folks on left and right have bought into the idea that online misinformation is overblown and doesn't really matter. From lies about migrants to transgender people to crime to election denial to climate denial, it's literally driving our country's politics.

as LA is burning, a swath of the country is recovering from an ice storm, Alabama is preparing for up to 6” of snow and I’m praying for the TX power grid, a reminder:

we don’t need climate action just for future generations, we need it now.

the climate crisis is here, all around us

I've shared this quote before but I'll share it again, as it's one I've been thinking about a lot as I've watched how our oligarchs have been behaving over the past few months.

Miller's announcement that Trump will use his "absolute authority" (whatever that means) is an anticipatory declaration of dictatorship.
Take it seriously folks.
"Everything in the world is gonna change on January 20" -- Tim Miller on his pod today flagged this clip of Stephen Miller outlining Trump's hardline immigration policies, including using the military for deportations. It's a sobering watch.

The press has to acknowledge and behave like Fox News and Twitter are state media, and report appropriately (all those journalistic saws of 'comfort the afflicted; afflict the comfortable' and 'speak truth to power' etc) instead of treating them like neutral (at best) entities. It's an uphill climb.
what if everybody just collectively decided to stop pretending fox news was a real news network and democratic administrations didn't let them sit at the front of the briefing room pretending to be real journalists

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment
