One said Ruth Bader Ginsburg would rule in our favor. The other didn't know Roe v. Wade had been overturned and said the court couldn't have ruled the way it did in 303 Creative because it would have been all over the news.

A few months ago I encountered a person who said they voted for Trump because they knew the liberal Supreme Court would keep him in line. I asked him how the Supreme Court was liberal and he said "doesn't it have to be by law or something?"

The fact that there has never been any mass scale reckoning with the crimes psychiatry has repeatedly committed against marginalised people including consequences for perpetrators is a serious injustice tbh.

It's weird, in a way, how things like that used to be exciting. Like, corporations have always been terrible, but there was at least some sense that things had to be good to make money. Venture capitalism and billionaire oligarchy has just completely decoupled cause and effect though.

The overinvestment in AI is an expression of the age-old capitalist dream to eliminate the workers' labour from capital, thus maximising the amount of surplus value going to capital, completely oblivious to the fact that this, if achievable, would destroy capitalism by eliminating value itself.

In the process, the system piles up massive amounts of unreturnable investment, relies ever more on fictious capital as a tradeable asset, sets up an inevitable global credit crunch, and pours carbon in unprecedented amounts into a biosphere that is being destroyed by industrial carbonisation.
