Image Text: Cedar Darkwood First Concepts Good Morning folks! °｡⋆𓋼𓍊☆𓍊𓋼⋆｡° Today I (Cecil) am sharing the first concepts of Cedar Darkwood. The overarching story of Lone Thicket Case Files is related to Cedar and those close to him. Both sketches have expressions from Capochiino’s “I’m so f***ing done 2” expression meme. I find these expression memes to be a fun exercise and helps me branch out from my default expressions. It’s also a good way to explore ways a character may express themselves. Image Text: This is the first proper sketch I did of Cedar. The expression used for this one is A1. While Cedar isn’t the most expressive person sometimes something pushes him enough to be a bit flabbergasted. Even here it seems someone did something extremely dumb. ----- Picture description: Cedar holds his left hand over mouth with a somewhat flabbergasted disgusted expression. His right arm is across his chest. He has piercing blue eyes and matching blue fungi can be somewhat be seen peeking out from beneath his hand on the right side of his face. He has long black and grey hair with some braids. Some of his hair is pulled into a messy bun while the rest is loose. He has pointy ears with white scars and some dark coloring on ends of them. He has dark somewhat blueish skin. He wears a black suit with a dark grey button up shirt with a bit of a blue tie visible. Image Text: This is the second sketch I did of Cedar. The expression used for this one is B3. This sketch is for an older/future design of Cedar. I’m still undecided of how he will look in the future, however this look is still pretty interesting. Here he is struggling to read a potential client’s request. ---- Picture Description: Cedar holds an aged piece of paper in both hands looking at it closely. He has a strained and annoyed look on his face as he struggles to read the paper. He has an eye patch over his right eye with many white scars visible underneath. Questions and Answers: What is Lunar Mycena? Lunar Mycena is to be a very small independent game “studio” consisting of two people. CuriousCecil (Cecil) as the creator and lead/main developer of the projects under Lunar Mycena. ZipItLockIt (Locket) assists mostly with writing and character design. Why Lunar Mycena? To simply put it-there is a large fungi theme in our projects. Background description: Paper texture with a blue-green and yellow-orange gradient overlays. A grey-green-blue clip/vector art of 3 mushrooms with a stary pattern and the moon cycle above them. This is consistent across all 3 pages/slides. By the header "Notice From Lunar Mycena" a crescent moon lays on each side. What are you currently working on? We are currently working on Lone Thicket Case Files (LTCF). LTCF is planned to be a series of semi-episodic dark/horror, supernatural, detective games. Most of which will be in a visual novel and point-n-click style. What is LTCF? New Downpour, the city of rain. New Downpour is a chaotic city brimming with the supernatural and the anomalous. Due to the eccentric nature of this city many detective agencies have come and gone, trying to keep everything in order. Lone Thicket Detective Agency is a relatively young organization but has already become a major player in the competitive investigation world of New Downpour. You follow Cedar Darkwood, a tall, strange man, as he deals with various cases throughout the city. This project is 18+ due to dark and mature themes. At the top of the page is an image with text placed at the top left corner that says, "Cedar Darkwood, Art by: CuriousCecil". so my class had us do book covers of popular stories and I chose red ridinghood, I miss childrens books that gave the characters a sort of scare-crow look so I gave little red a little red nose. Let me know what you think!
