🎲 Our proposal to tax gambling companies to pay to cut the two-child limit is "surely the right thing to do" says the former PM and chancellor.

Nationally, the widening disadvantage gap in absence can account for all the growth in the gap in secondary school results since 2018–19.

Tackling high absence must be central to the opportunity mission. A recent IfG report highlights the importance of joined-up preventative measures in doing this.

A big day for families as we launch the North East Child Poverty Action Plan.

Our region has shamefully high levels of child poverty- we have to act!

With a £28.6m investment, we’ll do just that. We’ll expand baby box deliveries, give grants to pregnant mams, increase youth services and such more.

There can be no two state solution if there is no viable state left to call Palestine.

Statement from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan that reads: 'The absolutely harrowing scenes of suffering in Gaza are being made worse by the day, with no sign of the crisis abating. Starving children searching hopelessly for food in the rubble. Family members shot dead by Israeli soldiers as they search for aid. In heartbreaking scenes, innocent lives are being torn apart before the eyes of the world.

The international community - including our own government - must do far more to pressure the Israeli government to stop this horrific, senseless killing and let vital life-saving aid in. Nothing justifies the actions of the Israeli government.

The UK must immediately recognise Palestinian statehood. There can be no two state solution if there is no viable state left to call Palestine.'
