There should be a kinder version of Hanlon’s razor. Instead of not attributing an action to malice but rather to stupidity or ineptitude, rather acknowledge that sometimes people are just blinded by things going on in their own lives and sometimes that unintentionally spills over into your life.

Since I was last on here, I started a criticism newsletter called the late review and today I wrote a long essay (manifesto?) on why I write, writing as practice, serialization and internet fiction, and the human right to be untalented open.substack.com/pub/thelater...

It seems like Bluesky is a sort of immune response to what bird app has become and is actively friendly and full of creative expression. I have not seen a single argument on this platform or a non polite interaction and I think it’s because there is a motive purpose to those who have joined here.

I love how excited people on here are about ufo50. More than anything else that has convinced me that this is a good place to hang out.
