📽️ Song Sung Blue

Loved this film! Initially warm and fun but there's a brutal tonal shift that changes the film significantly.

A ★★★★½ review of Song Sung Blue (2025)
" I'm not a songwriter. I'm not a sex symbol but, I am an entertainer." Struggling musician Mike Sardina (Hugh Jackman) meets fellow down-on-her-luck musician Claire (Kate Hudson) and the pair enter a...

My Christmas has started off with some short films including one about school shootings ('All the Empty Rooms' on Netflix) which was fantastic but not exactly festive. I live an unusual life.

📽️ Unknown Number: The High School Catfish

This week's random streaming entry on Letterboxd's Top 10. Nothing special about the documentary itself but a compelling and disturbing story.

A ★★★ review of Unknown Number: The High School Catfish (2025)
This Netflix documentary tells the story of teenager Lauryn Licari and her then boyfriend Owen McKenny who were sent thousands of anonymous and hateful text messages over several years. It's told thro...

📽️ The Conjuring: Last Rites

A really enjoyable send-off for the franchise even if the horror stuff feels very familiar

#TheConjuring
A ★★★½ review of The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025)
"Once we start, there's no going back. Anything can happen. And most likely anything will." Is this the best installment in The Conjuring series? Probably not. But I think is probably my personal favo...

📽️ Lilo and Stitch (2025)

As a fan of the original, I hated this. It's just soulless!

#LiloandStitch
A ★★ review of Lilo & Stitch (2025)
" I just think he's a lot cuter than you think he is dangerous." I love the original Lilo and Stitch and think it's a perfect animated film. I've never been keen on the live-action remakes and didn't ...

Just watched @rspb.bsky.social's short film "Return" about white-tailed eagles. It's really lovely! A few years ago seeing one locally seemed impossible but now I've seen them all over the area and they are even breeding!

📽️ I really enjoyed "The Roses", very funny with some great performances but also some real emotional depth too.

📽️ I always try to watch @letterboxd.social's Top 10 films each week which is why I ended up watching Amazon's "The Map That Leads to You".

Decent production values and Madilyn Cline is pretty good but I didn't love the script. boxd.it/aU1aWb
A ★★½ review of The Map That Leads to You (2025)

📺 #AlienEarth 1.4: This show is so brilliant! Interesting and unsettling to see the kids, especially Nibs, starting to fall apart. And that eye alien is very unpleasant!
