I was really lucky to move forward in the #Indieinkawards this year with TETK!

If anyone who hasn't read it is interested, it's pretty cheap!

Yeah, I do this a lot too. Key dialogue seems look like a screenplay before I edit them properly.

Which works very well for their view of humans as these exotic (in comparison to their own scaled skin which is less responsive) deeply sensory beings.

The interespecies relationships took likes month to stay kicking off after discovering each other. 😆

Yes, a lot of reptilians can just change gender as needed and also reproduce asexually.

So, to the Quetzal procreation and sex are largely devoid of association, so a "binary" is irrelevant to them.

Thank you so much! The Quetzal are sensual creatures who are kind of crazy about humans and vice versa, for perhaps obvious reasons. 😆

It's a bit of a yes to all there! They are feathered dinosaurs, and their language is difficult for a human tongue, so "Quetzal" as a feathered serpent from the heavens felt appropriate. 😁

As for food in flight, Mycelial ships also grow their own food, as Quetzal hydroponics is very advanced, and is used as scrubbers for air reclamation.

Synacrans raid ships to claim food or seedlings, as the Empire has scarcity issues.

These raids are why the H.E.A.V.E.N. drive was created.

I am the anthropomorphic personification of the sin of Pride.

I think. 😅

Thank you! Yes, that's a good description of the tone "terrifyingly whimsical" in both meanings. A bit more horror in general.

Yeah, it's also kind of why I wrote it. I think the surprise of its absence has value.

Everyone feels fulfilled without it.

Likely it's just twanging my own insecurity, as I'm demi and so a bit between ace and not ace.

Yes, it's hard to remember as Virgil's nearly 40 and Lucifer is millions of years old but they are both also extreme virgins. 😆

Yeah, that's where I feel it's gets into a weird territory of what people consider sex in an erotica.

From a certain point of view, my work is all foreplay, to an extremely spicy level, but I can see the argument.

I doubt I'd change anything but it's an odd challenge.

Yeah, I think it's just overthinking it as you could list a whole encyclopedia of stuff that's not in it.

However, a Romance without a Happily Ever After is a subgenre. So, for certain elements it seems there are exceptions.

To be clear, I'm not advocating for it. It's just an interesting thought.
