Haven’t had enough on the Honduran election? Me neither. So let’s drill down on the exact situation as it stands. First, a correction: Honduran media explain that the actas (ballot place totals) missing are mainly digitized, but failed to transmit. This isn’t quite a “hand count” 1/
Update: no progress in vote counts in Honduras since, at 57% tallied, just over 500 votes separated the two candidates officially leading. Pouring gasoline on a combustible political landscape, the US did in fact release convicted drug trafficker and former President, Juan Orlando Hernández. 1/
Just over 500 officially counted votes between the two leading parties. And as has happened before, the official vote count website crashed. This has caused people in Honduras to worry that when the system is restored, the counts may be different— because that happened before. Meanwhile… 1/
