The Trump administration revoked the 2009 EPA endangerment finding, removing the legal basis for US greenhouse gas regulation, a move environmental groups called "cynical and devastating."

I joined @marketplace.org to talk about the Trump Administration's revoking the endangerment finding that sets the basis for climate policy in the US and gave my favorite quote on the radio ever: "“I’m going to call B.S. on that. Like, I mean straight up B.S.” www.marketplace.org/story/2026/0...

I've been getting a lot of requests from reporters for comments about the removal of the DOE Climate Working Group report from the EPA's repeal of the endangerment finding.

I also have often made this observation stated below: the arguments of the deniers of human-caused climate change are so poor, so easily refuted, and intended only for gullible lay people, that they basically prove how strong and compelling the evidence for human-caused climate change really is.

A powerful statement from @ametsoc.org:

The repeal of the Endangerment Finding does not alter the central unambiguous scientific conclusion: The climate change people are causing threatens human lives and well-being.

Make this make sense. (Trick question; you can’t. Hint - the EPA is a Federal agency.)

“The final rule announced on Thursday argues that the 1970 Clean Air Act applies only to direct, localized pollution, whereas greenhouse gases spread far and wide and therefore aren’t subject to regulation.”

Genuinely if the next big politics push we have on climate is just overturning this and continuing to do nothing rather than, I don’t know, passing a law I‘m going to need to take some time off
How did EPA ultimately justify its decision to reverse course on greenhouse gas emissions?

The agency's 3 arguments will define the inevitable court battle over this move. Here's what they are. heatmap.news/climate/epa-...
