Like A Jade Bangle A loop that never ended A loop that didn't have an endpoint A bead that never fell from its joint A man who wore it, that was the point. The jade bangle did feel Blended with foliage... Thinking paradise was real not a saying, The jade bangle broke at a seam, The shards fell, limited in its strength Cut Cut: an endpoint with a break Crack Crack: a middle with an edge Break break: an idea that was broken Slash Slash: a hero with an agenda My faith was never broken Until I was ruthlessly misspoken— The words that barbed, fragmented pieces Are a heroes' words, shallow and vain. A hero I tried to be Limited in tensile strength Devalued when shattered, bent Glue and clay bandaged what is spent Misshaped and refurbished Pottery I have become Like a jade bangle that's glued by heart.
