I got lots of aroids, rescue alocasias and philodendron ended up being my favorites. My main giveaway cuttings for summer would be my calatheas since they are growing like weeds xD Ctenanthe burle marx is my biggest weed baby!! And marantas I may have cuttings of soon too.

There's a nursery we went to recently that was WAY cheaper than any other nursery I've been to in ages and we're visiting again next week, so I'll see what they have for shady areas. But I'm thinking hydrangeas, clivia, ferns, and alocasias will be great to start out with.

I got fed up and threw out all my alocasias cause the fuckers were pest magnets and kept going back into dormancy and I can't be fucked

lol the first step was, immediately after posting that tweet, realizing she needed to callous over before getting anywhere near water, digging her out and sure enough having to scrape off another layer of rot. Alocasias are drama queens but I'm hoping leca instead of soil will help!

I started raising her from corm in April this year. She has now produced corms herself. I am so proud of how she keeps growing.
I had to up her pot size today. Needless to say, I am nervous. Alocasias are famous to be dramatic about it.
(If she dies, I will cry. Violently.)

Succulentes, alocasias, colocasias ont pris leur quartier d'hiver. L'osmoseur est à l'abri. Le bananier est ratiboisé et voilé. On a eu 0° cette nuit, passe encore. Mais -3° après-demain ça devient critique. On est prêt à affronter la saison froide.

None are variegated but I love the leaf shapes!
