Honestly, having a non-anglophone accent in english is like an instant buff to your deadpan humor potential, cus you may not have access to the inflections native english speakers use to indicate sarcasm (depending on your accent, it might sound like youre a bit sarcastic all the time even when […]

these ideas aren't so much core to cyberpunk as they are to a poison running through anglophone discussions of labour conditions at the time. a good illustration of this is Alien, which is about a labour accident, worsened by a corporate infiltrator, on a ship owned by a british-japanese company

3. These kind of "impact" awards primarily exist to create a comfortable bubble to stuff games in for usually overwhelmingly homogeneously white/anglophone judges that have no idea about any of the narratives or identities in games that were popular enough that they have to be considered somehow.

Wow I wonder why there's been such a push in the Anglophone world to get rid of jury trials

There’s also the British and Canadians. The anglophone world is not fully metric so it’s no surprise people still use customary units. And customary units don’t seem to be going away anytime soon

All schools in four different school districts closed Thursday morning after an overnight snow and freezing rain system hit northern new Brunswick. Schools in Anglophone West, Anglophone North, Francophone Northwest and Francophone Northeast are closed.

Derrida says genres are “not to be mixed”, as Lindsey says can’t be opposed, unless you take “culture” to only reflect the Anglophone middle class institutionalised forms that can be “experimented” with or placed in the “metagenre of indeterminacy” that Malik diagnoses as modernism’s contemporaneity

And thanks for continuing to engage here on Blue Sky, despite the immoderate Moderators and other cultists.

It's refreshing to read your non-English posts on a variety of topics - a window onto the non-Anglophone world.

Send this to your kids and see how quickly they can tell it’s AI (it has a clear mistake). If they don’t, time for a teachable moment!

Its also because he has fluent Russian and subject matter expertise. Whereas most TV media like BBC prioritise Anglophone gabblers who look good all weather.

A lot of anglophone countries USED to have traditions in ancient times but then the Christians arrived- same as everywhere else, they stomped on everything that deviated and co-opted anything more troublesome

Most cultures have a plethora of commonplace and casual ancestral remembrance traditions to stave off the type of gaping hole in the soul that cause anglophone countries to produce these types of monstrosities every 6 months now

If you consider social media bans or censorship without age verification to be authoritarian, then I think most Anglophone countries are doing them or thinking about it, including some US states.

It's so shockingly and obviously a bad translation. Putting aside that many people who read subtitles on this film probably know who Anu Malik is...it just doesn't track. I don't know who the anglophone world's biggest musical plagiarist is, but???

*taking notes* i see i see. i just hadn't seen this side of it. also, another thing is that i'm not american and back in 2013 i think you said? i didn't even know enough english. my first years in fandom and probably most of them weren't in anglophone communities. maybe that's why i missed it?

Watching the next to last episode of Me and Who and suddenly we have decided to sub both Phi and Hia as Ge?? Fascinating

I mean I'm all for making anglophone audiences learn terms of address but we could maybe go all the way and make them learn the ones in the show's language
