What gets me is that I always saw computers as liberating, especially for autodidactics. You get the means to create so much on your own, independent of all these industries and associations and access barriers. And then people do shit like this and erode the inherent autonomy that tech can offer.

I also work in Early Modern Philosophy, on figures like Mary Shepherd (a contemporary of Kant who was more interested in Hume and Berkeley), Anton Wihelm Amo (the first African to receive a PhD in Europe), and - last but not least - Margaret Cavendish
