problematic height gap
Cygnus, a Secretarybird, kneels down, nude except for a collar and leash, with one end held by their partner Erin, a Siberian Musk Deer. Cygnus comes up to Erin's chest even though they're on their knees and he's standing. the same as before, but now with a diagram showing that Cygnus is 6 feet 4 inches and Erin is a much smaller 5 feet 6 inches. Erin looks off to the side and grumbles "well this is awkward" while Cygnus laughs out loud affectionately. not featured is the next scene where Erin rails Cygnus silly

These little smart telescopes make it so easy now to capture the cosmos. My favorite this year have been the Veil nebulae in Cygnus.

Our universe is just stunning. And I’m grateful for the distraction.
A two panel picture of the East and West Nebulae in the Cygnus constellation. Taken with a astrophotography telescope. From Wikipedia: The Veil Nebula is a cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust in the constellation Cygnus. It constitutes the brightest parts of the visible portion of the Cygnus Loop, a supernova remnant, many portions of which have acquired their own individual names and catalogue identifiers. The source supernova was a star 20 times more massive than the Sun which exploded between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago. At the time of the explosion, the supernova would have appeared brighter than Venus in the sky, and visible in the daytime. The remnants have since expanded to cover an area of the sky roughly 3 degrees in diameter (about 6 times the diameter, and 36 times the area, of the full Moon).

In brush strokes of interstellar dust and glowing hydrogen gas, this beautiful skyscape is painted across the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy near the northern end of the Great Rift and the constellation Cygnus the Swan. Composed using 22 different images and over 180 hours of image data, the widefield mosaic spans an impressive 24 degrees across the sky. Alpha star of Cygnus, bright, hot, supergiant Deneb lies near top center. Crowded with stars and luminous gas clouds Cygnus is also home to the dark, obscuring Northern Coal Sack Nebula, extending from Deneb toward the center of the view. The reddish glow of star forming regions NGC 7000 and IC 5070, the North America Nebula and Pelican Nebulas, are just left of Deneb. The Veil Nebula is a standout below and left of center. A supernova remnant, the Veil is some 1,400 light years away, but many other nebulae and star clusters are identifiable throughout the cosmic scene. Of course, Deneb itself is also known to northern hemisphere skygazers for its place in two asterisms -- marking the top of the Northern Cross and a vertex of the Summer Triangle.
