With Akira Kamiya and Hiroya Ishimaru's voices in Y, I'm sort of glad there's no strong pressure to abandon characters in SRW, just because the voice actors aren't as available. Daimos is long due a return to a console game, so I've got more hope for that actually happening.

Just got a neat release in: The Philippines-market 22-disc VCD set of (Fighting General) Daimos from MagnaVision with the Telesuccess English dub. Beat up, but these are rare here in the states.
(For reference, Discotek managed to fit the entire series on a single SDBD, sans dub)

Daltanious' plot also reminds me not just of Daimos, but older '70s robot shows like Grendizer and Dai Apollon (aka Shadow World), with the "the hero is secretly space royalty!" thing

At the end of the 2nd episode, not really feeling Jeeg yet. Will check out the 3rd episode a bit later and see where we stand. Might be a bit unfair as im directly comparing it to Daimos which I watched yesterday.

So the bomb in the Triper was supposed to go off with the big energy surge that happens when Daimos transforms but thankfully it has a safety system that detected something in the gearbox. That does make me wonder is the car part of a circuit cuz Kazuya is up in the cab by this point.

I’ve bought Daimos, Combattler V and Ginrei OVAs from Discotek/CR Store and the Gundam 4K Trilogy from AL UK. Also put my order in for Macross II because I didn’t have the finances at the time for the KS. Excited for Macross Plus and Macross Zero.

I added material on Toei producer Takeyuki Suzuki, a live-action pro who crossed over to the anime side for "Daimos," "Daltanious," and "Cyborg 009": "At the time, live-action works were in a dramatic decline, and anime was booming, so in that situation I had no choice but to do anime works too."
