Just under 70 hours and I rolled credits on Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. I still have some post-game stuff to do but this was my first DQ game and it was so charming.

yet another dq7r gripe: the shared inventory and consistent save points that heal you kind of sand off edges that gave it some identity
Then again, maybe I'm broken inside if I want less opportunities to save/heal in and out of battle

This is a little late after the release of DQ7R last week, but if you're curious about the claim that Dragon Quest games can only be released on weekends in Japan, here's some research I did on that subject:
So the recent unveiling of the VGHF Digital Archive has also made it easier to track the development (and possibly origins!) of the urban legend about the "Dragon Quest Law." I dunno if there's been any other research done on this, but here's what I've found so far.

my take on dq7r as someone who's been playing it and really enjoying it is that if you're new to the series or you bounced off the past versions of dq7 like i did you're gonna have a great time, but there are also better places to start playing dragon quest available on the same consoles

i'm enjoying dq7r a lot but i bounced off the game both times i tried to get through the ps1 and 3ds versions so i'm definitely not the right person to ask if it's a good remake or not

what we mean is that they took bdsp and dropped it in sloppy unreal asset build. it's trying to be DQ7R for pokemon but without the hand-crafted elements and art style.
