#DadLit
Had a kid three years ago, and all of a sudden, all I read is #DadLit. Banner year for reading nonfiction…

For All Mankind's pivot from hard-nosed realpolitik thriller to DadLit Clancy-wank is something to be written about I think. It starts off so granular with how it tracks the shifts away from our reality, vut the further from our truth it gets, the broader & more handwavey it becomes.

I was stoked to get the chance to be on the @thedadlitpod and chat with Dan.

To merge the roles of a parent, writer, and reader is super cool, and Dan has a knack for finding interesting ways to discuss them.

Rainbow Six with the DadLit Pod

I recently appeared on the DadLit Podcast with author and historian Daniel Roberts to discuss Tom Clancy's 1998 techno-thriller (and still quite excellent) Rainbow Six. Check it out!

I'll read a novel the moment you can write one about a midcentury political figure that moves chronologically and mentions lots of obscure battles and treaties. But until then, I'll stick to #DadLit...
no. men must never acquire the devastating power of the Novel. in fact we should preemptively invade their country to shut down their efforts to develop fiction

Yeah we're kidding ourselves. I think dadlit now might be Iain Banks and Giles Foden

Having said which, Len Deighton is immortal Dad IMO; you should get a copy of Berlin Game in the baby box

I finally persuaded my 19yo to read Lonesome Dove, so he's been carrying around the paperback, and he told me today that not one but two dad types have stopped him in the past few days to tell him it's one of their favorite books. #dadlit

As part of my dadlit sequence I read this. Among other things a good reminder that kids have their own world. The book is beautiful, funny and devastating sad. Started to cry at end until I noticed my boy being real fucking dangerous

The DadLit wars are heating up
do NOT buy this book, this man is a LIAR
With two weeks until Christmas, what are you buying the fan of spies and war in your life? How about the true story of the man who named the SAS, invented the Commandos, and made a thousand tanks appear in the desert, as if by magic?

The great Darrell Hartman hit the stacks and delivered a #DadLit classic for Issue 01 of Esses. Was fistpumping when the second draft of this came in.

If you love Formula 1 or racing history, this is a must read….

Imagining an alternate universe where Master and Commander blew up and instead of comic book movies taking over Hollywood, we get massive historical movies based on DadLit
