• EcoEvoRxiv is society‑based (SORTEE) and hosted by the California Digital Library.
• PsyArXiv is society‑based (SIPS) and hosted on OSF infrastructure.

These aren’t just technical differences — they reflect different values, risk profiles, and dependencies. (4/7)

🧵 Preprint servers, sustainability, and values
When I first started posting preprints, my main criterion was topical fit. I mostly use bioRxiv and EcoEvoRxiv.

But preprint infrastructure isn’t neutral — and it isn’t guaranteed to last (1/7)

Also, an obligatory reminder that (last time I checked) BioRxiv ridiculously does NOT allow abstracts in languages other than English.

For this reason, we included an abstract in Spanish and submitted to EcoEvoRxiv!!!

"Dingo abundance and density was estimated as 77 (64–94) individuals and 0.014 (0.012–0.017) dingoes/km²—lower than previously reported estimates—and varied significantly in response to aspects of the fire regime and distance from roads."
