I love that when they added Morgana to the card game they gave us a canon interaction where she takes Nilah in and nurses her back to health after finding her injured. A real fairytale hero meets fairy queen moment.

T.Kingfisher’s fantasy works hit this spot for me. There’s a practicality in the way the characters interact act in a Fairytale like setting. I recommend her Paladin’s series. She also has a really interesting Snow White retelling called Hemlock and Silver.
