I think that might be some Flammula, something like Flammula alnicola (I don't know American species though).

Rafayel was so cute it should be illegal.

Aster could feel that burn, that need to squish Rafayel until he burst, to tease him until he cried and to see him turn as red as a Flammula. Rafayel was so cute it made him maddeningly violent.

He created several phantom Flammula of various iridescent shades in Aster's palm. "You can play with them for a while."

Spectacular red subaqua Alder roots lining the River Lowther, acting like mangroves.
River is fringed in places with Branched Bur-reed (Sparganium erectum).
On the shoreline gravels, Lesser Spearwort (Ranunculus flammula) & to chagrin of graziers, Hemlock Water Dropwort (Oenanthe crocata). 17/20

Ranunculus x levenensis with parent spp R. reptans Creeping Spearwort & R. flammula Lesser Spearwort on a Cumbrian lake shore. The hybrid has larger flowers & broader lamina than reptans with linear leaves. R. reptans has few GB locations, often ephemeral being introduced from the arctic by birds

Lesser Spearwort. Ranunculus flammula. Up to 50cm. Tends to grow where nutrient levels low or soils shallow. Hairless. Leaves undivided with basal leaves on long stalks. Yellow flowers up to 2cm. Grooved flower stalk

Lesser Spearwort flowering in a puddle close to Kynance car park. The puddle will dry up soon, so the plant has to set seed before it does. It has longish strap shaped leaves.
