Absolutely... the difference in vision is a useful reminder, also (flower patterns in UV for bees, etc). When you throw billions of dice billions of times you're bound to generate "neutral" mutations as well as good ones (and the vast majority of bad or fatal ones). Or ones outliving their use...

The morning sun illuminates but can't shine through a dense band of rain sweeping towards our vantage point high on the escarpment. The distant sea is just visible through the shining rain, while nearer on the plain it's still clear but dark, and the silver sky is reflected in a dam. The scene is viewed through the canopies of multiple eucalypts. The sun shines even when it's raining.
