The mangrove golden whistler is really a private joke on myself... I had a lot of trouble capturing even one shot, it flitted around constantly, and the autofocus was helpless in the visual noise and depth of the mangrove swamp. Here are two misses, same pose 🤣

Thank you! It was actually quite a protracted battle and much more dramatic than this shot suggests. It was TWO magpie larks and a little friarbird against the curlew, which remained on the ground and saw them all off...
