Oh... It's true... Only in GE2015 to GE2020 that *all* seats were contested.

[Side note, with hindsight, this trend has broken. There was 1 ward walkover in GE2025]

with the close fight in ge2020, I think it's so fucked that dr paul tambyah did not get elected for ge2025. same goes for dr chee soon juan. i don't want to hear the complaining about the rising cost of living when this is the govt that the majority has elected. enjoy the 15% gst.

His party and therefore Leo came third in the GE2020 and yet it was him and not
Mary Lou MacDonald not in the rotating Taoiseach

Doesn’t seem like a concencus to me

(side note: this article is written before the GE2020 results were out. So it reads very strangely.)

Perceive that the PAP had self inflicted a petty image post GE2020.

The opposition grants the PAP the best compliment by not committing to oust them.

It reminded us that the gov of GE2015-GE2020 seemed insecure.

- Constitutional reform to Presidential election to be race-based
- POFMA in 2019
- Aljunied Hougang Town Council case
- PM's siblings
- attack on outspoken people (I can't recall who......)

The book highlighted the close shave in West Coast and East Coast in GE2020. The margin was apparently close to 6k (each??).

If the opposition had won in those GRCs, the number of opposition in Parliament would have almost doubled to 20 seats.

60% - 66% voteshare is apparently the range that PAP accepts.

61.2% in GE2020 is within that range.

🤔

Current gov cannot get support just based on economic outcomes e.g. GDP. Increasingly it's also about moral suasion and systemic fairness.

Cited LHL's speech post GE2020, conceeding they could do more with FDW dormitories and not opposed to stronger safety nets that are fiscally practical.

The Progress Singapore Party has released its manifesto for #GE2020. PSP is one of three bigger opposition parties in #Singapore.

So far two opposition parties have released their manifestos: cost of living, GST, prioritising citizens in jobs and checks and balances on government common threads.

[Aside, oh how bad my memory is. I actually forgot GE2020 was the year about Tan Cheng Bock's PSP being on Facebook - and his constant teasing of voters by including Lee Hsien Yang in videos.]

1. Go to this page. www.rocklandcountyny.gov/departments/...

2. Under "Historic Election Results" click the "2020" folder.

3. Click "GE2020 Accumulated Results.pdf"

You can either view the result in browser or download the PDF to your computer/mobile device.

In GE2020, the EBRC carved out new SMCs while dissolving Sengkang West, Fengshan and Punggol East m SMCs - areas where WP has been active for many years. (p. 17).
March 30, 2025 at 11:28 AM
The timings [between when the EBRC Report Dates vs the dissolution of Parliament] have ranged from 1 day (GE2001) to 3 months (GE2020). (p. 8)

The EBRC shouldn't be so opaque about its decisions as it gives rise to legitimate speculation that it is more partisan than independent (p. 9)

How did the youth (18+) vote?

How many #Fridays4Future activists put their names on the electoral register, and then made their presence felt in the ballot box?

Amazing how they're all realising this is needed after bombing in an election where a) they had been told time and time and time again leading up to it that it was needed, and b) their feeble attempt started 1 day before the damn election.

#VoteLeftTransferLeft was a hash tag during #GE2020!

Some chatter around the in-party transfer figures in the exit poll and while on surface they look bad for FF and FG, if you adjust for the number of constituencies where they only have one candidate, it works out very similar to GE 2020.
