For #ArtAdventCalendar day 7 we travel north to the Brooks range in Alaska, where a photographer named Rolf Hicker took a beautiful photo of an inuksuk, which I used as the basis for a mani! Inuksuit are made in a bunch of types - this human-like form is called an inunnguaq.

In 1977, the World Wildlife Fund released a limited edition set that included four of his images. Three years later, he was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
In 1997, he built a 1.8 metre high inukshuk for Governor General Roméo LeBlanc.
