#Lent2025GDMUTHU Okay! It’s only a footnote today, but my favourite rant about Eve shows up in today’s reading! Eve ARGUES with the snake and comes to a wrong conclusion, but at least she engages in arguing! Adam just eats the apple cause why not?

#Lent2025GDMUTHU day 6: “Help us be sated with what You have given us to be ours”

Oooof. That’s a difficult prayer for me.

#Lent2025GDMUTHU “They trusted God would not make something beautiful only for us to wish it took up less space” really hit me today, but what I most needed to hear was that God sees and knows the changes in your body and loves them. That “transition needs care” and that God wants that care for me.

#Lent2025GDMUTHU day 5: i (amab) am also a product of the body-shaming purity culture of the Southern Conservative Christian milieu. It’s part of why I’m most comfortable in chinos and a OCBD shirt. Any tips on deconstructing my wardrobe? (JK, sorta?)

#Lent2025GDMUTHU day 1: I fully sobbed through this prayer. I love talking about the Holy Spirit as the breath of God– and of us all!

When I say that this book is making me cry in the same way as reading Rachel Held Evans’ Searching for Sunday did, I need you to know that I can think of no higher compliment to give.

#Lent2025GDMUTHU Day 2: I was already sobbing at this reflection and prayer, and then Rev. Lizzie dropped the story of how she wrote it. Thank you.

#Lent2025GDMUTHU day 4: I don’t even like the song Amazing Grace, but this prayer is wonderful!

This whole paragraph just called me out specifically. It’s like she was listening when my therapist called me a hypocrite for refusing to ask for help I needed because I didn’t want to be “a burden.” Even Jesus needed help carrying the cross. You are a burden worth carrying. #Lent2025GDMUTHU

#Lent2025GDMUTHU Day 3 (I’m playing catch up cause I was out late with friends yesterday) Wow! I loved everything about this devotion on love!

“This is a ridiculous way to think about love, and a ridiculous way to think about God. It turns the golden rule into fool's gold, something shiny but fleeting, unable to last…”
What a great line! #Lent2025GDMUTHU

I love this so much! #Lent2025GDMUTHU
We read this chapter as our devotional at last night's EpiscoPals! Great conversation about sin, death, and how we hold onto God being the answer to our heartache when the World Is Bad

I hope anyone reading along will start contributing. If we get enough folks involved, I’ll create a #Lent2025GDMUTHU feed. 🕯️

Ok, it appears that there’s a critical mass of folks reading @revlizzie.bsky.social’s book this lent, so I wanted to make a way we can all talk about our experiences, despite reading these meditations at different times, etc. SO, I’m gonna try tagging my posts with #Lent2025GDMUTHU. 🕯️
