#Missional
As missional leaders we need to see God as:Bigger than the problems we endure.Bigger than the pressures we experience.Bigger than the people who criticize us.Bigger than the pain we suffer.Bigger than the praise we receive.Bigger than the pride in our hearts.

‘2026 will be the most spiritually open year in living memory,’ says UK missiologist
Research markers from the previous year (2025) suggest that the “tide has turned” in numbers of people attending church, says a missiologist for the U.K. Evangelical Alliance (EA). In a “Missional Trends 2026” article, Phil Knox, Evangelism and missiology senior specialist for the national EA, shared five key missional expectations for churches to anticipate in the year ahead. Power-Restrained Missions and the Temptations of Christ
I have sought to promote "Powerless" Missions. While this sounds strange to some people, it is not far from mainstream missions. Vulnerable Missions is a movement that is popularized and missiologists and missional theologians commonly promote an avoidance of missionaries utilizing money or authority to control and manipulate. But I also get the problem. The term "vulnerable," although an awkward term certainly, probably has a better feel to it than powerless.

Leading a missional church is not for the faint of heart. It takes courage to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and to lead the church beyond it personal limits.

This is another way of saying that the extremely wealthy Southern baptist convention failed miserably in its missional work when the nations showed up on its doorstep.

I like to think that forcing someone in US border control to scroll through 5yrs of my social media would have a +ve influence on them, make them smile, introduce them to Jesus, missional theology & discipleship, help them admire my places of work, &make them jealous of my stylish &jaunty hats.

It's the same pride in being odd, outcast, rebelling, justice seeking, brave, or vindicated as liberation requires, but shoots off the wrong direction toward "just work harder": 7 Steps to Freedom and purity culture and Whiteness. "Missional" sucks on principle but WORKS for diverse, big audiences.

tl;dr - the Remote Revolution has been incredible, and, also, the ministry of the local parish is essential. But until and unless clergy and congregations are able to meet the missional needs of those who don't attend public worship, thank God there are remote resources to fill the gaps.

I read a blurb online and it didn’t seem radically different from other missional approaches of the last 20 years (Kirk, Guder et al, and particularly ”Abide and Go” by Gorman re the ”love vs repair” thing). Which would be great! Does it have a go at anything like those?
