Some CA legislator should propose a bill to move wildfire mitigation costs out of electricity bills & into the general fund. It's more honest (the whole state is affected), more progressive (electricity bills are *extremely* regressive), & would, at a stroke, lower CA electric bills.

This is your regular reminder that not everyone who wears a clerical collar is referred to as a "priest," but, instead, often referred to as "pastor" or "minister," and that this has been true — and, in the heavily-protestant U.S., the *literal norm* — for centuries.

The story told here--one where anecdata suggests agency and autonomy have run amok and nameless activists are to blame--certainly rhymes with the NYT's disastrous panic about trans kids. Then you realize it's literally being written by the same author.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

This AI generated picture of Trump seems to draw pretty directly from Warhammer 40k imagery. For those who don't know, 40k is about a grimdark fascist dystopian future where women are nothing more than breeding stock.

40k is supposed to be a parody, but they're taking like a "how to" manual.

Hope and faith aren't somewhere I have arrived at. They aren’t a destination. And they aren’t prizes or achievements to unlock more of God’s presence. They are tools I have added to the values I carry with me along the way. open.substack.com/pub/invisibl...
Faith that evolves
My hardest challenge to my faith was recovering from a relationship with God that was based on anxiety, performance, and achievement.

@edmarkey.bsky.social if you really want to support trans people, start by withdrawing support for dangerous censorship Bills like the Kids Online Safety Act.

KOSA is a Trojan Horse- promising ‘safety' when it will actually harm LGTBQ kids by blocking life-saving resources online.
This Transgender Awareness Week, we come together to celebrate the resilience and bravery of the transgender community in the face of relentless attacks.

My message to you is simple:

I am with you. I love you. I will never stop fighting for you.

Swastikas and nooses are hate symbols because they are meant to signal who is hated, they have been used for that purpose, none of this is a mystery.

Removing this designation is an endorsement of these symbols, is an endorsement of violence.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. It is a day when we in the trans community remember those who have been murdered or committed suicide in the last year. We read their names, so that they won’t be forgotten. For many of us, it is an emotional day. We know that it could have been us.

Briefly returning to Bluesky for a quick rant about how the concept of "dying alone" is stupid and unhelpful.

Every minority group has specific perspectives on systemic failings that other minority groups miss. I feel distinctly qualified on this one by virtue of being aroace. I was always going to "die alone" which gives me the distance required to examine that statement long enough for rage to boil.

What is the function of "I don't want to die alone" as a mantra? To make you marry someone you don't like that much, and stay with them for the rest of your life. You've got a fifty percent chance of dying alone (after your partner) or not (before your partner), but we don't talk about that.

You cannot get the volume quiet enough on your phone speaker in a public place so people sitting 4 feet away or less can't hear it. If you are watching videos in a waiting room, in an airport terminal, or at any point using public transportation, and you play sounds from a smartphone, stop it.

Exactly these white evangelical Christians are the very same false prophets Jesus warned you would use his name to commit evil the world has never seen. If you call yourself a Christian and don’t see that, then you most likely are False prophets as-well.
Understanding the difference between "religious people" and White Evangelical Nationalism is knowing:

They didn't want more religious freedom or a more religious country; they wanted their own personal pliable, obedient cult followers.
