It’s just racism. There’s no immigration problem
The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

Now would be a really good time for every state to decide to just send registered voters a mail in ballot by default and then check the returned ballots with the official roles, but what do I know, I'm in California where voting is as easy as sending a letter.

Blue states need to pass laws that keep all Federal agents 10 miles away from any voting site or drop box or be subject to immediate arrest and incarceration until the voting is over.

The targeting of Native Americans by ICE is so widespread, tribal governments all over are responding. To protect tribal citizens from ICE raids, tribes are holding events to help citizens get updated IDs and even speeding up the printing and processing times.

A particular problem with Rowling and Gaiman (or anyone active online) is that the attention economy isn't just financial. Rowling says the enduring popularity of her work IS support for her views. The lowest bar is stop giving her money, but she does see even your free HP fandom as justification.
Like, I will do everything in my power to never knowingly buy any of JKR's stuff because she explicitly uses her wealth to harm trans folks.

Sometimes I was a big fan of someone terrible pre-finding out, and sometimes not. Some boycotts are easier than others.

Health care for transgender people is just that - health care. And it looks different for every person. Those decisions should be made in a doctor’s office without the interference of legislators, politicians, and extremists who deny the very existence of trans people.
HHS is applauding the American Society of Plastic Surgeon's statement on transition-related surgery for minors, but ignoring the part where ASPS opposes government efforts to ban & criminalize the care.

Bad theology kills
"I was a stranger and you kidnapped and deported me". Matthew 25:35, as modified by Pastor Mike.
Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

We have to be bolder and clearer. No, you cannot be a good Christian and believe in the idol of patriarchy. No, you cannot stay at your complementarian church and say your girls will be fine. No, you cannot be both loving and believe in a wrathful God who creates people predestined to torture-hell.
Many many Evangelicals simply are not aware that they are Evangelicals. And that does make a lot of the conversations that need to happen a little harder to have.

A weird (and bad imo) quirk of how blocking works here, if you don't already know. If you want to block someone you were following, unfollow them first.
Worth noting that blocking someone you follow doesn't remove you from their follow list, so it's possible a chunk of those people don't realise they show up as still following him.

Did I spend too much time working in religious media as a woman or is everyone else in my circles letting out a single bitter HA! at the notion that they need a billion dollars in order for this to be true? Bro. Becoming a billionaire is not a requirement. You just have to be a well-liked white guy.
The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

God doesn't "break you" to bless you. God doesn't work that way. We worship a God of love. God gives hope in the midst of despair. God doesn't break you. God meets you in your brokenness. Blessed are those who mourn. They stay faithful through the crisis, and so does God.
