I dump a domain to Gmail for the same reason. Things get mixed up, but I've always blamed the problems on myself and Chrome.
For some reason Chrome *really* loves weavegotmaille@mydomain. At least it isn't leaking my quiet address that way!

I own MyDomain(.)com
Users login to MyDomain via MyAuthDomain(.)com
Whoops, dozens of subdomains on MyAuthDomain(.)com were created by attackers w/ ill-intent
MyDomain(.)com allows ANY code from MyAuthDomain to fire via CSP policies
Am I pwned?

My favorite "misplaced email" was fan mail meant for Raven-Symoné of the TV show _That's So Raven_.

If you’re concerned about transition, set your new Proton (or w/e) email as a forwarding address in Gmail and make sure that your Gmail outgoing emails have a Reply-To w/ new email.

It's fine if I use the Authentik IP, but trying to use the domain and it throws 500 (likely due to a loop).
There's gotta be a way to make it work.

you can't upload
me@mydomain,45,male,owes_big_tax,etc
cos it's not use - FB already has MORE data than that on you.
Would it be different if it was an ad saying "you are due a refund, go to MyIR to get it before 1 April!" (sounds scammy, tho)

Would you like your own personal handle like: myname@mydomain?
Follow this tutorial, the ATproto protocol allows you to host your own content. It’s also a way to verify your account. Companies/media media will start using this too:
bsky.social/about/blog/4...

As someone who has been running websites since 1998 (WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE, MAX?!), setting up the handle @ mydomain isn't an issue for me. I know all the terminology and how tos.
Most people don't.
I just think there's an *easier way* than they are choosing to go with.
