for anyone that doesn't know what nilotoon is, it's a premium shader that's best used for cartoon/anime-style 3D models! it has really nice cel-shading and can be used with Warudo Pro, which means you can have some really nice lighting and atmosphere with URP environments

ahhhh i was honestly a little worried about investing in nilotoon but ohhhh my god, models look so good in warudo when I use it. i don't know if i can convince clients to use it though, ahaha :'''D

Note NiloToon does have some pretty high quality post processing and rimlights, but it's not present on the screenshot as that is how my model normally is set up due to preference for the art style in regular use so comparison may not be accurate for everyone.

I could go on and on about the differences of shaders, pros and cons, etc. But it's honestly a matter of preference, budget, and what you want at the end of the day. I use NiloToon on my model thanks to Mofu Workshop for work use. Don't insult NiloToon for being expensive either.

While NiloToon is a very nice toon shader with lots of settings. Please don't bash, insult, or feel self-conscious about your model because you don't have NiloToon. Poiyomi, MToon and LilToon are amazing free shaders already and if needed you can save up for NiloToon when ready.

Warudo Pro supports Nilotoon but if you want to use it on your own models, you’ll have to buy it yourself :’D RealToon has versions for both URP and unity built-in rendering so you can still use it with the standard version of Warudo

Oh! But it’s definitely worth mentioning that Warudo offers a Nilotoon conversion service where they can apply Nilotoon shaders to your model for a fee, instead of you having to buy Nilotoon yourself

Wow, that's extremely helpful to know! I had seen so many videos of people talking about using Nilotoon, I just assumed there was no longer a huge price-point attached. 😅 If you don't mind me asking, how does RealToon compare to Poiyomi? Is there a difference in how they project shadows? 🤔
