Dismayed by the state of society after the brutalities of World War II, Jean Dubuffet looked to nontraditional artistic sources, especially those of non-Western cultures. Beginning in 1947, Dubuffet took three extended trips to the Sahara; based on the art and culture he experienced on these visits, he made a number of works, including The Grand Arab. In 1951 he developed a personal manifesto critiquing the conformity of Western society and delivered his “Anticultural Positions” in a lecture at the Arts Club of Chicago. He urged for a postwar renaissance: “The values celebrated by our culture do not . . . correspond to the true dynamics of our minds.” His presentation inspired many young artists and collectors in Chicago, who were eager to find new artistic forms that were distinct from the iconic European modernist tradition. Abstract of the paper, it reads: How widespread is sexual liberalism in tolerant societies? Theoretical and descriptive evidence suggests an overall liberalization in societal views on topics such as women’s rights and homosexuality. Yet, relying on sexual norms theory, this study unveils persistent sexual prejudice. We differentiate between “normalized” sexual issues, like same-gender marriage, which have gained mainstream acceptance, and “nonnormalized” issues, such as nontraditional sexual practices and relationships, which remain stigmatized. Through a conjoint experiment in Catalonia, Spain, we investigate public attitudes toward adoptive parents with varying sexual orientations, relationship types, and age differences, confirming that discriminatory preferences are prevalent in contexts with low social desirability. By highlighting the continued prejudice against both normative and nonnormative sexual issues, this research contributes to our understanding of the dynamics of sexual attitudes and the challenges facing LGBTQ+ politics and rights.

Final scene from one of the Rambo movies that they dedicated to the brave Mujahideen fighters of Afghanistan but instead I made it Minnesota Protestors. In 20 years, these same fierce insurgents will take a Future Plane (runs on solar power or something) and ram it into several conservative landmarks, including the Noah’s Ark theme park in Kentucky. A dude who creates a cartoon that had one good season will almost have been on the plane. His show will be called “Nontraditional Family Guy” because we live in a liberal hell in the future!!! Mark Wahlberg will be on one of the planes the insurgents hi-jack, one that is heading for the last Cracker Barrel to still use its old logo. He finally has his chance to stop 9/11 from happening (this happens on 9/11 btw) but he actually dies on takeoff from heart disease so he never has a chance 😔 they didn’t stop the plane when he died initially cuz they didn’t want to inconvenience the other passengers
