Or comics, frankly

There's a ton of video games that do tie-in comics to varying degrees of success and I'm not sure ANY of them have the kind of blank check fan investment and wide open storytelling spaces that Fallout books would have
Why are there no Fallout novels

Woke up with about 90% of my voice gone. It's fun to talk like Batman for a few minutes but it gets old real quick. Especially when the kids are doing something they shouldn't

I just can't fathom the idea of having anything at all in common with someone half my age. It would be so boring to try caring about the kind of problems I would have had at 19-23. Unfortunately, I think my perspective is colored by how old my parents were when I was born. So, uh, yay?

Relatedly, the various conspiracy theories that posit Epstein as a spy and foreign agent for a variety of different nations acting on their behalf to “honeypot US elites” is directly a form of denialism that erases the actual harm perpetrated against the many sex trafficking victims of those elites.
One of the things bothering me about how people are responding to the Epstein files is that there are tons of conspiracies being created and spread about what’s in them, rather than people just believing the victims like they could have been doing for years now

For all that we complain about the death of shame, "and we need to know less about each other," it's quite powerful when people who are able to, tell their story, in their own words.

There is value in that, more than just for them, but that would be worthwhile enough.

Welles was apoplectic at colorizing movies, I can't imagine how biblically pissed off he'd be at this
In 1942, RKO slashed 43 minutes from Orson Welles's "The Magnificent Ambersons" and slapped on a happy ending. Now, an A.I. company wants to restore what was lost. Are they righting a historic wrong or descrating a classic? My deep dive, in this week's New Yorker. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Will an A.I. restoration of “The Magnificent Ambersons” right a historic wrong or desecrate a classic?

Academia is so incredibly fucked up and also a lot of the intellectual work that goes on in the academy is incredibly important

Part of what makes life in the academy tough is holding and navigating both of these truths at the same time
