I did like Shredder's Revenge, even if it didn't have anywhere near the mechanical depth of SOR4, but I do feel like it had a good mix of "it plays well enough" and "handles that IP well"
Can't say the same for the rest of the ones that followed that were like,as you said, hit that nostlgia button.

I enjoyed it because I have nostlgia for the show and like shortish documentaries about things on YouTube. I don't know how much you're into some of the behind the scenes stuff.
