Ohhhhhh bating is, far and away, the most effective tool in my arsenal for self-regulation. Yes, sometimes it’s because I’m horny. But many times it’s simply because I’ve accrued a sensory debt, and overstimulation, and I need time alone with my own body.

actually this is worse than usual i think. the severe under/overstimulation is genuinely causing a drift into unhealthy impulsive thoughts. nothing to worry about, just something for me to flag. anyway thanks for bearing with me i don’t mean to be a bummer but posting helps me pull myself together

i could probably handle it if it was just executive dysfunction but the perpetual state of overstimulation is killing me. i can feel every sensation, every texture/temperature/drop of moisture on my body. every sound, every source of light, every movement and i cannot filter any of it out

Dunno how anyone got "introversion" outta that. Overstimulation, panic attack, ptsd (judging by panel 2 on that page), yeah. Maybe if they'd said something about strong social anxiety, they'd have more of a leg to stand on.

![students who can pass a test, complete a worksheet, perform for a grade, but they cannot think without scaffolding.
So now you ask them to read a primary source and they panic. You ask for a 750-word analysis and they stare at the screen. You ask for critical thinking and they Google for an answer. You ask them to problem-solve and they shut down. It's developmental neglect. They were never taught how to learn independently.
So this post sounds compassionate, but it aligns perfectly with the broader political project of cognitive weakening. "No homework" isn't a neutral opinion when the entire infrastructure around children, especially Black and brown and poor kids, is already starving them of rigor, literacy, and intellectual stamina. When attention spans have been decimated and executive functioning is collapsing, calling for even less practice, less reading, less reinforcement, less thinking is not liberation. That's sabotage!
It plays directly into the hands of the people who are banning books, gutting public schools, demonizing teachers, attacking libraries, and throwing entire generations of kids into environments designed to keep them passive and underdeveloped.
A child who never practices thinking becomes an adult who can't challenge power.
