Today in #LaborHistory 5/15/1969: #Police fought #students in Battle for #PeoplesPark at #University of California #Berkeley. Police killed bystander, James Rector; wounded 60 others. For past 50 yrs, activists have fought to defend the park, provide #mutualaid, free food & clothes, classes.
Bloody Thursday street battle, Telegraph Ave., near People's Park, with tear gas, smoke, cops with truncheons.

With my wee girl still off school following a tummy bug, decided to take her down to the #PeoplesPark in #Ballymena

Had a lovely time just walking alongside the lake and playing in the park. Just the cure after a couple of days stuck in bed feeling unwell.
