Yday I went to the Great Tumulus of Gordion just to see these juniper timbers (in one of the alt texts above I had falsely written "cedar"). Seeing 3700 year old tree carcasses standing before me felt strange and wonderful.🏺
The fascinating tomb finds are in Anatolian Civilizations Museum, mainly.
A few horizontal and axially aligned large timbers, supported by modern day steel supports Similar, horizontal timbers of about 40-50 cms thick each The endpoints of the timbers The MM tomb chamber is the oldest standing wooden building in the world. Its interior measures 6.20 m long x 5.15 m wide. with side walls 3.25 m high. There is an outer casing of rough juniper logs. whose density and strength protected the tomb chamber proper from the crushing weight of the tumulus above. The walls and ceiling of the chamber are made from squared pine beams. Both species of wood were available near Gordion in antiquity. However. the large floor beams and the coffin were made of cedar. which is not native to Phrygia. This suggests a diplomatic gift exchange. from one king to another. All of the timbers that you see at the end of the tunnel are original and have been standing there for over 2.700 years.

This type of hat was illegal for a while in Norway during WWII. They also have a history going back to the French revolution as a "bonnet rouge". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrygia...

Dated to the 8th century BCE (ca. 800–540 BCE), the burial contains rare royal artifacts—bronze vessels, inscribed ceramics, and a monumental wooden chamber—showing striking similarities to elite tombs in Gordion, the ancient capital of Phrygia.

SAINT HILARY of POITIERS Doctor of the Church (301-368) Saint Hilary was a native of Poitiers in Aquitaine. Born and educated a pagan, it was not until near middle age that he embraced Christianity, moved to that step primarily by the idea of God presented to him in the Holy Scriptures. He soon converted his wife and daughter, and separated himself rigidly from all non-Catholic company, fearing the influence of error, rampant in a number of false philosophies and heresies, for himself and his family. He entered Holy Orders with the consent of his very virtuous wife, and separated from his family as was required of the clergy. He later wrote a very famous letter to his dearly-loved daughter, encouraging her to adopt a consecrated life. She followed this counsel and died, still young, a holy death. In 353 Saint Hilary was chosen bishop of his native city... He was in consequence accused to the emperor, who banished him to Phrygia. He spent his more than three years of exile in composing his great works on the Trinity. In 359 he attended the Council of Seleucia, in which Arians, semi-Arians, and Catholics contended for the mastery. He never ceased his combat against the errors of the enemies of the Divinity of Christ. With the deputies of the council he went to Constantinople, and there so dismayed the heads of the Arian party that they prevailed upon the emperor to let him return to Gaul. He traversed Gaul, Italy and Illyria, preaching wherever he went, disconcerting the heretics and procuring the triumph of orthodoxy. He wrote a famous treatise on the Synods. After some eight years of missionary travel he returned to Poitiers, where he died in peace in 368. Like Saint Hilary, nearly every Christian has always lived amid unbelievers and heretics. I noticed this hat, in the style of Phry­gia, and wondered what it was about. Interesting back story.

There is a lot going on just now, and that song from Les Miz seems relevant.

The two parties are NOT the same, and I do favor the side that wants to administer and provide.

Due process must live.
A red wool hat sits on a styrofoam head. It is in the style of Phry­gia, a country in Greek times in what is now Turkeyh, and has been a symbol of freedom from slavery since those times. It was used by Americans in the revolution, and appears in dozens of official seals in this country.
