KF-21 is probably closer to being stealthier than most 4th gens, but the ROKAF doesn't consider it a 5th gen as they couldn't implement some material design things they wanted (the ROK didn't have the tech at time).

A pair of F-16 fighters operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) accidentally bombed a civilian area during a live-fire military exercise today. The incident took place ahead of large-scale joint maneuvers with U.S. forces in South Korea, the first of their kind since U.S. President Donald Trump returned to the White House. Footage has now been released which appears to show yesterday’s “accidental bombing” in South Korea, in which an ROKAF KF-16 Multirole Fighter dropped 8 Mk-82 500lb Bombs on the Town of Dong-myeon in the Gyeonggi Province, during a Live-Fire Exercise with the U.S. Air Force.

I believe one of the Su-27 units still active are legacy, non-modernized aircraft in the far East - would be a huge leap forward for the North Korean Air Force but nowhere close to closing the technology gap with the RoKAF. SM2's or 3's could help but can Russians spare them?

사실 ROKAF에 역사적인 기체들이 참 많은데 이 기체들 보존이 잘 안되는건 좀 슬픔. 예를들어 방위성금헌납기 초도 4대중 지금 보존되고 있는건 2대인가정도고 베트남전 당시 미그킬러도 여러대 들어와 있는데 아마 ROKAF에서 제대로 시리얼 정리안해놨을거임(...)

사실 ROKAF에 역사적인 기체들이 참 많은데 이 기체들 보존이 잘 안되는건 좀 슬픔. 예를들어 방위성금헌납기 초도 4대중 지금 보존되고 있는건 2대인가정도고 베트남전 당시 미그킬러도 여러대 들어와 있는데 아마 ROKAF에서 제대로 시리얼 정리안해놨을거임(...)

speaking very simply that is not a posture the DPRK maintains day to day. If we hypothesize they went into it, we would see, and we would adjust USFK/ROK mil's posture appropriately. So in the event this goes down as described 7th AF+ROKAF is actually ready to go, and starts hitting bunkers

The display team ”Black Eagles” from the Korean Air Force is one of the best aerobatics display teams in the world. I have had the pleasure of seeing them perform twice, both at RIAT. They fly the very good looking Korean made T-50 Golden Eagle. Pics from RIAT 22.
