Interesting in which fields interculturality is a topic at all.

There are many "soft" themes: Food, music, clothes, hairstyle. But e.g. religion looks left to certain institutions only. I wonder if this is a by-product of US American pop/consumer culture centered discourse. Most culture isn't seen.

A newly published study in Anatolian Studies challenges modern stereotypes about ancient societies, revealing that hygiene in Hittite culture was not incidental—but structured, meaningful, and deeply embedded in daily life, religion, and social hierarchy.

Often we blame a region's religion when the oppression instead may be rooted in its culture. Yet, that acknowledged, it's also true that . . . it is often cited by the oppressors.

It's terribly sad in that, among other things, their culture and religion have quite a bit of ancient wisdom about trying to do good in the world. Perhaps in that sense, they are breaking their Covenant.

(side note: at that point i stopped responding, pretty rude, but also insane things to start saying)

to many people hair is a characteristic that DOES define them, culture, religion, self-expression, personality, etc. can ALL be contained in hair, so, yes, hair IS a pretty defining feature

So they still practiced their religion and the Americanized version of Japanese culture that was both deliberate and unconscious. It’s both as natural as breathing and utterly without context. In the end, I don’t talk about it much, but it comes out in my artwork and the objects I can’t let go of.

Judaism is most definitely a religion and therefore a faith. Sure it has ancestry, ethnicity and culture connected too but it is not Zionism. Zionism is a political nationalist movement that works to benefit Jewish in the land of Israel.

I like some ideas in Marxism and Marxist criticism of culture, but it seems like mostly a boy's club and a religion for those who want to feel smarter than Christians, and belief in an impossible future revolution just seems like nihilism with extra steps

The sharing of one’s religion, culture, and language with each another in society ought to bring not only tolerance and acceptance, but an act of embracing of all expressions of cultural and religious life with deep care, warmth, and kindness.

3. One religion, one culture, one leader

Pluralism is seen as dangerous.

So Christian fascist movements push for:
• One “true” Christianity
• One national identity
• One strong leader

Anyone who doesn’t is framed as a moral enemy rather than a fellow citizen.

Thanks for your kind words.
I totally agree about obscene wealth being the greatest evil.
I'm just another voice here saying that the Jewish religion or culture in no way implies agreement with Bibi's atrocities.

Imagine waking up at least twice out of every month for the last year to find the most powerful man in the world has attacked you, your religion, your culture, and constituents.

And it results in some bobblehead bitch who looks like he snuck on earth spraying you with something in a syringe...

Unfortunately 90% of synagogues are like this. I would love to get in touch with my religion/culture but there are zero synagogues not associated with Israel around me.

Indo-Aryans, migrated from the Central Asian steppes to the Indian subcontinent between 2000-1500 BCE, settling initially in the northwest. They introduced the Sanskrit, & the foundations of the Vedic religion, significantly shaping Indian culture through sacred texts, the Vedas.

It's devastating that islamic regimes ruined such beautiful countries like Afghanistan and Iran, these two countries have really beautiful civilizations and culture even the music and the dances are so beautiful, religion just corrupts everything it touches

Community is great. That's where you can find the best people. For me it's the people who try to claim them as an identity where everything goes wrong. Doesn't matter if it's nerd culture or political discourse or religion as soon you make something your identity it becomes us vs then.
