There’s a huge margin if Parish, Hobbs & Salthouse are overseeing the transition.

No entry, sensitive wildlife area.

The black-headed gulls of Salthouse have an understanding of the needs, problems and feelings of others, and are of a sensitive disposition, especially when in their winter plumage.

There's a lot of winter fungus around for us to discover & enjoy at the moment. We had more time on Salthouse Heath today & we came across the ever-so-smart Candlesnuff fungus (aka Stag's Horn fungus - though ours today were much simpler in form).

Morning all!

This week I want to finish Godfrey's Barbecue at No 9 and to move on to Sabit's Good People.

Non fiction is a treat of a local book by David North called Life Changing Cley & Salthouse Marshes charts a year of walking and nature sighting in an area we visit lots.

Happy Reading!

Morning Womble.

Today's reads are The Barbecue at No. 9 by Jennifer Godfrey & a very local non fiction book Life Changing: Cley & Salthouse Marshes by David North.

I'm quite enjoying Barbecue as I remember Live Aid day pretty well and am a huge Queen fan!

Happy reading all.

After all the greyness, drizzle, rain, thick murk & gloom of the last few days (weeks!) it was good to see blue sky this morning. 1000s of gulls on the shoreline at Salthouse, GCGrebes offshore + a buoyant Guillemot. Not too many Twite tho...

Well in which case it’s naive and immature. The post that is

Players, clubs change their minds all the time. And on a day like yesterday it’s easy to miss some comms off. Salthouse should be delivering messages. It’s 100% on him

The fact that Salthouse and Parish have such a close working relationship makes it even worse that neither could be arsed to pick up the phone. But the post suggests the lack of communication was very much the Palace side.

Hobbs and Salthouse running the show. I hate it

Criminal negligence by Sullivan as usual. I guess Will Salthouse doesn't have any defenders on his client rolls.

No new birds but some great birds on North Gower. Distant Pallid and Marsh harriers at Llanrhidian. Thought I had 3 Black necked Grebes at Salthouse but more I watched them think the bird on the right is a Slavonian. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #ukbirding

Great morning around Salthouse & @nwtcley
with Steve Lewis, Twite, Jack Snipe, lots of Red-throated Divers and a Pale-bellied Brent showing at point blank range. Some nice shoreline delights to be found too!

Lots of other interest at Salthouse Point inc 12 Grey Plover, hundreds of DB Brent Geese and Oystercatchers, Bar-tailed Godwit, Red Kite, Shoveler, Pintail, at least 2 Great Crested Grebe, Dunlin, Redshank, Merlin and Peregrine. A couple of Chiffchaff and Grey Wagtail at Crofty. #birdingWales

On to go Gower and Salthouse Point where a pair of Black-necked Grebe were showing superbly. We watched for at least an hour before they drifted inland on the rising tide. Distant views of the Pallid Harrier and 5 Spoonbill as well. #birdingWales #UKWildlife #birdsSeenIn2026 @gowerbirds.bsky.social

Rarely in these parts sadly. It was on tap in The Salthouse in Galway many years back and myself and my friend had a few, only to find our legs no longer worked when we climbed off our stools. Strong enough stuff ...
