I did, many years ago, have a go driving on above Bure Valley Railway and they pointed out that one of their powerful little engines doing 25mph is equivalent to 100mph if you scale it up. I remain sceptical but it was much more thrilling than actual 100mph behind full-size steam!

I only found out and managed to get the timings about 40 minutes after they had passed just by me this afternoon without so much as a whistle. Might have to come see at the weekend...

... all built on the site of the Morecambe Super Swimming Stadium, a vast art-deco lido said to be the largest open air pool in Europe when it opened in 1936
... remains of the Morecambe Leisure Park, Bubbles indoor and outdoor swimming pools and the Dome music and entertainment venue
