The EU single marker is 7 times larger than the UKs. Do the maths, Ireland did. I've spent years discussing the economics of ScotIndy. One thing I've learned - no armchair economist, let alone academic economist, can predict its future. I heard it all, good and bad. Good night, and Bella Ciao ✊️

Very much so, civic nationalism can be a source of good, especially in response to extreme nationalism. It's incredibly refreshing to know that some people recognise that 🙏 ScotIndy is in small part fueled by nationalism, but in the main, it's a response to the UKs drift to right-wing ideologies.

So what is the plan, federalism? That is less likely than ScotIndy. I seem to remember Gordon Brown touting this as a sweetener to voting "No".....well here we are, 11 years later. Completely laughable.

Just spotted this v Ropes reply - I'm a fervent ScotIndy supporter but feel soooo much of the same energy! Was on a samba drumming workshop wkend of Lab leadership results - the venue owner interrupted to tell us Corbyn had won and we all spontaneously applauded

I'm wary of folks that hurl derogatory slurs. The British State has used this tactic for centuries, to belittle and diminish the validity of the ScotIndy movement. Interesting to see a similar approach in Canada. No point in sending me a link to one "nuts" opinion, what about the rest of Alberta?

Either way, the media angle gets us nowhere in addressing Euroscepticism or rejoining the EU.

(quite clearly the huge loss / grief processing = me in 2014/15 re ScotIndy. I'll stick my neck out and say that Brexit/Covid response/May/Johnson/Truss/Sunak haven't really changed my mind in that regard!)

Quite right Duncan. Nothing would get me to join the Labour Party - and this latest decision only re-enforces my view. However, whilst you and I may disagree on ScotIndy, I'm with you and your fight over this. Trans rights should be a no-brainer for any political party that aspires to form a Govt

Beware The National and its clickbait. They were also complicit in the "4-YEAR" nonsense over polling for ScotIndy. It's been 23 months, not four years. It was four years just for that particular pollster.

It'll never change. The British State is founded on the Protestant religion and Head of State. The only way this will ever change is with ScotIndy and a new constitution with laws banning OO marches. Always amazed at how many catholics I know that voted "No" and wish to remain second-class citizens!
