Absolutely no idea if she would have any interest in doing it (which arguably makes her a better fit for the role), but the campaign to make Sam1ra Ahmed the new BBC DG starts here! A genuinely wonderful suggestion from Justin.

The people who run BBC News need to read this superb skewering of the New York Times and then take a long, hard look at their own dismal failings. This paragraph is particularly pertinent:

Sadly I've never met someone irl who says irl but otherwise "OMG ALL OF THIS"
Imagine if you met someone irl who kept talking like people do on here, throwing under the bus, kept the receipts, lives rent-free etc, you'd quite rightly punch them in the face

AI models may be developing their own ‘survival drive’, researchers say
Like 2001: A Space Odyssey’s HAL 9000, some AIs seem to resist being turned off and will even sabotage shutdown
When HAL 9000, the artificial intelligence supercomputer in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, works out that the astronauts onboard a mission to Jupiter are planning to shut it down, it plots to kill them in an attempt to survive.
Now, in a somewhat less deadly case (so far) of life imitating art, an AI safety research company has said that AI models may be developing their own “survival drive”. Continue reading...

From The Office to degenerating into the nasty, punchdown, scoffing, comedically clueless, transphobic patron saint of wankers you are today. James Acaster called you out for the worse than worthless "edgelord" that you are. But you're too remote, too doubledown, too stupid to take that on board.

He could be just known as Andrew Cunt living in a portaloo on the Sandringham estate and we’re still gonna just want him in court answering big ol’ pedo questions. He can keep all his titles and his little medals if he wants, go talk to the police, fucko.

Go stick your head in a pig
I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

Watching Garth Marengi last night I was impressed by how well Matt Holness stayed in character especially when he was taking questions from the audience but I felt there was a slight flicker of the real man when he said AI can fuck off. Which got a huge cheer incidentally.

The thing that immediately gives away an AI cover is that they are agnostic of the flow of the originals. This one has a hook that scans similar to the original but I assume that's because the person who posted it selected one which got the hook right. The verses don't know how the lines scan
This might be one of the best remakes I’ve ever heard.

Prince Andrew now being called Andrew Mountbatten Windsor seems oddly fitting as the “Mountbatten” comes from Lord Mountbatten, the great uncle and mentor to King Charles, who was also a child molester.
