The perpetual naivety of Polly Toynbee. There's nothing "decent" about Starmer. He's a liar, a coward, an unprincipled enabler of genocide. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
It’s tragic that a decent PM will be brought down by Mandelson’s sleaze – but it’s a matter of when, not if | Polly Toynbee
With three years left and a huge majority, Labour can govern with more humility and deliver real change. But with Starmer at the helm? I can’t see it, says Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee

the particularly disgusting thing about this is making out that somehow migrants have been taking the piss by taking taxis everywhere, when in fact the home office itself has mandated that they see doctors miles away (hundreds of miles in some cases), with no properly arranged transport.
Do they understand how mad they sound? As if anyone has ever decided to cross the Channel in a small boat because, if they make it, they might get to take a free taxi to a doctor's appointment?

"Pull factors" on steroids.

Tell you what, if they just replace Starmer with Wes Streeting that's like replacing Thatcher with Tebbit. You're still fucked. Labour can't admit that their only hope is for their current masters to commit career suicide. They'd rather fascism.

Simple, naive question to TV. Why is everything, everything a competition these days?

You think this is bad for Mandelson? Wait until he has to resign from Labour a fifth time, that'll be even worse.

Eleanor Rigby only lasted two minutes 11 seconds. Not everything The Beatles recorded was a masterpiece but this was one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuS5...

RIP Sly Dunbar. Here's a lovely edition of the South Bank Show all about the wonderful Sly and Robbie. A few people were asking to see it, so I've uploaded it to YouTube and I'll leave it there until Monday. Hopefully it'll get a proper repeat soon.

Bovino's dismissal may only be a small victory and doesn't right ICE's murderous wrongs. But it's a hugely encouraging reminder of the power of protest. Trump does chicken out if people fight back. Shame on the silent, the heads-down equivocators and all power to those who actively resisted.

The Labour right are some of the very worst people in politics. Without principle, actually criminal.

How soon before this cunt gets carried and lowered into a wheelbarrow and transported to what in a Simpsons cartoon would be signposted as the Nut House? Surely even the Sinister Interests in our society must realise the danger he imposes to Sinister Interests, as well as our own?
Trump: "They're paid agitators and insurrectionists. Nobody talks about the fact that $19 billion at a minimum is missing in Minnesota, given to a large degree by Somalians. They've taken it. Somalians. A lot of very low IQ people."
