A BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF Panquetzaliztli Panquetzaliztli is the 15th Veintena in the Tonalmaxiotl Calendar that celebrates the birth of Huitzilopochtli on the Winter Solstice. Panquetzaliztli was characterized by a month-long celebration, but the most prominent festivities occurred in the days leading up to the winter solstice. During these celebrations, the streets and temples were adorned with Cuetlaxochitl (Noche Buena, Poinsettia) and amate paper. These joyous occasions featured select youth racing approximately 7 miles while carrying figures of Huitzilopochtli crafted from amaranth and maguey honey. At various stations along the way, offerings were presented. The culmination of the ceremony involved feasting upon these delectable figures. However, with the arrival of the Spanish, this celebration was swiftly evangelized, and the tradition was exploited as a means to impose the beliefs of the Spanish upon the indigenous population. These celebrations were transformed into the posadas we now know today. Regardless of what it has become, this time of year is marked by deep reflection as we follow the cycles of the sun and submerge into a deep earthing, like a seed. During the solstice, the sun reaches its lowest, farthest point in the sky, resulting in the longest night of the year. This symbolizes the dying of the sun, to be reborn at the first light of the next day. This emergent sun embodies Huitzilopochtli, depicted as the 'little sun' gradually warming the surroundings. As he gathers warmth, we too thaw and find the determination to push through the soil, embracing a revitalized life. @Cihua.MazaтL Huitzilopochtli Huitzilopochtli, is the warrior regent of the direction of the south, the left-hummingbird, and represents the energy of willpower, it is our life-force, and the strengh of our hearts. Huitzilopochtli is representitive of the "little sun." His name translates into "Hummingbird on the left." The left to the ancient Mexica signified the southern part of the world. Huitzilopochtli is recognized by the blue body paint and black face paint along with his serpent sceptor, Xiuhcoatl, and mirror shield. He was also represented as a hummingbird due to their fierceness and the belief that fallen warriors are reborn in the shape of these sacred birds. He was one of the most important energies, alongside Tlaloc, as he is the one that described to the Mexica people a land surrounded by water with an eagle perched upon a cactus would be their new home. Later this land became known as the sacred city of Tenochtitlan. Huitzilipochtli was born of a cosmic miracle from the womb of Coatlicue on the winter solstice. His birth story is a story to describe how night becomes day and is celebrated during Panquetzaliztli and the days leading up to his birth day the winter solstice. @Cihua.Mazatl

What is the point?

This must be part of a post truth attack on our access to reliable information.
codile; he is an Aztec god of rain, fertility, and storms, but his body was often likened to a crocodile, and in some artistic and mythological contexts, particularly in the art of Teotihuacan, he is specifically identified as a "Crocodile-Tlaloc" associated with the earth and water. The crocodile's body was seen to symbolize the earth itself, which was believed to have been formed from the body of a primeval crocodile.
