3. "Lucky" brand that had a flimsy paper backing that broke someone's Hassy back and they were mad.
A messy kitchen sink shot with Polaroid type 55 showing the characteristic dots where the neg attaches to the print, and some saggy blank spots where the developer didn't work a row of people in plastic capes and hats eating pies face down in the plates without use of their hands. The photo is in black and white and was taken with flash a big rock in the snow, in black and white with string vignetting, dusts spots and a black spot that was probably me screwing up the developing.

I was so excited about IP's New55 and had high hopes for its success. I dearly miss Type55 and it was the only Polaroid product I used to a huge degree. I'm glad to see the new products coming along.

These are so nice! I sure wish there were a renewal of Type55 Polaroid film. The Fuji instant prints were nice too but I really liked having the film.

Polaroid's Type55 yielded a 4x5 negative and a print. It was pretty unique. The film was basically Panatomic X and while I mostly used it to preview my focus for tricky commercial shoots, I loved it for portraits. I used the print as a proof but in reality only the neg was important to me.

Yep. Actually my real dream would be if they could bring back Polaroid's Type55 film. I'd be as loyal a customer now as I was back then. A previous valiant attempt by an independent didn't make it.
