🆕 Do skewed sex ratios reduce son preference?

Today on VoxDev, Suneha Seetahul (University of Sydney (USYD)), Matthieu Clément (Université de Bordeaux) & Pierre Levasseur (INRAE_France) discuss a 'self-correcting' mechanism within India's missing women crisis: https://ow.ly/L3vE50Y9Oh8
Do skewed sex ratios reduce son preference?
As women become scarcer in India, some of the social and economic conditions that sustain strong son preference begin to weaken, pointing to a ‘self-correcting’ mechanism within the missing women crisis.

As a casual academic at USYD I had to do a mandatory procurement e-module and I would like the university to explain exactly what the purchasing power of a casual academic is.

Also: our anti-bullying module (mandatory) also did not include a single case study in a classroom lmao

my other thought is maybe the owner gotta have to do sth with Australia? i got haunted by the Australian government logo a couple times here, while there's a presence of RMIT and Usyd in Saigon, can't quite tell how substantial the Australian expat community is here.

Sydney is a great city, doesn’t get enough love in NZ even though it looms as large (if not larger) in our culture than London, LA, etc

Also USyd is in a great spot. Get over to Carriageworks in Eveleigh, and White Rabbit Gallery in Chippendale if you have time.

"researchers at USyd found that the additional cost to long-haul flight from using sustainable aviation fuel ranges for $68 to “hundreds of dollars” per ticket. The average traveller, meanwhile, is willing to contribute a mere $2.60 extra" www.theage.com.au/business/con...
The next cause of airfare price spikes isn’t even in your plane yet
As governments ramp up sustainable fuel mandates, travel-hungry consumers face a new cycle of price hikes. New research suggests they won’t pay.
