Really pleased to see Wendy Erskine’s book chosen as a Watersones Book of the Year.
I recall Wendy reading at a Stinging Fly event in Books Upstairs. I think it may have been her first published story. I was struck then by a sense ppl felt she was a special talent – and that she was being supported

I used to buy the 3 foor 2 in Watersones and get two I liked and one random one that sounded interesting. I read so many different things that way, some good, some bad, some amazing. I learnt from all of them.
