Happy birthday! Katsushika Hokusai was born today in 1760. The iconic Japanese printmaker & ukiyo-e painter gained fame for his print series of Mount Fuji.

This piece was a bit of an experiment. It is essentially an end-grain cutting board with a wood block print carved into it. The customer (and this guy!) couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It's made from walnut, hickory, and one thin piece of red cedar.
