my cool fact is that the amulet in ys3 MD is completely broken cause it'll shoot you to max level if you use your third screen clear & level up at the same time. speedruns just abuse this to take advantage of the 100+ exp central room at the start of the quarry to be max the rest of the game

wish falcom music could have sounded like when they were on NEC home computers forever. they did not gaf if they were still on pc88 they wanted to make sure to let ys3 and popful mail sound as amazing as they do. then brandish 1&2 are their own entirely separate beasts of soundtracks

just completely dominated the pc market back then. nobody could compare, especially to their music cause good lord. pc88 ys3’s ost is still one of my all time favorites (and it was somehow made even made better on md)

ファルコム「YS3」88の最高峰ARPG。多重スクロール等を見た時感動してこの技術力に金払ったと思った。家庭用移植版は出来て当然な感じがして感動は無かったけど。
ウルフチーム「アークスII」MSX2版をデモがカッコ良くて何回も見てた。MSXはFDの読込み時にBGMが止まるのでデモの途中に何度も止まるのが残念
ポニーキャニオン「AD&D」/スタークラフト「T＆T」どちらも名作TRPGのPCゲーム化で海外からの移植。日本はビジュアルが売りの作品が多く洋ゲーは地味に見えて損してたかも。尤もTRPGは想像力で遊ぶので寧ろその方が楽しめるとも言える

I also want to say F--- his bargain basement Castlevania sh*t. CV gets away with it because it has good controls, or at least good for its day. Ys3 has terrible stiff controls that eat your inputs at weird times.

speaking of imogen, this song heavily inspired me and made me fall in love with sound design tbh. she asked fans to send her sounds and someone sent the sound of their new baby's heartbeat - this whole song came about because of that. you can hear it if you listen close

when they opened up YS3 in 2009 people complained to PC richards directly that the PC richards whistle was too fucking loud (it was too fucking loud) and PC richards told the yankees to turn it down, unfortunately seems no equivalent available here

I think the ground in the OF is lower at GMS field, so the top of the fence has a lower elevation than in NY.
