Tolman's Sunburst Maze 80 Years on: A Meta‐Analysis Reveals Poor Replicability and Little Evidence for Shortcutting
In 1946, Tolman et al. reported that rats could take a novel shortcut to a goal after training on an indirect route, supporting the Cognitive Map theory. However, a review of subsequent Sunburst maze...

However, you may not know that many studies tried - and failed - to replicate this!

We reviewed every published replication across rats, monkeys, & humans, & analysed them together for the first time:

12 studies, 46 experiments, 3 theses.

I WILL ADMIT that i used zotero for the bibliography, rather than the built-in functionality which I know owns in Office

Reminder of the day: If you updated your homebrew setup (if not, what are you doing?), you also need to update some of the targets for, say, Zotero OCR (tesseract and pdftoppm got significant point updates).

Obsidian for keeping track of notes and documents + Zotero for keeping track of PDFs (with annotations in PDFs saved to Obsidian) + Things for project todo lists. Things isn't free, but I don't like any of the todo extensions for Obsidian and Things is nice and polished

Actually kinda surprised I don't have one off the top of my head. The second half of my ORE piece would work once I'm done with it, but I tend to go with the story of Carrie Buck (usually via Lombardo or Gould) and fill out the context myself. I'll try to remember to check Zotero tomorrow...

I really like your vibe but at the same time feel kinda afraid of you haha 😅

Also, very grateful for the zotero archive you've put up! I've written an essay on therianthropy+otherkinity for my philosophy course using it.

Why did Zotero change its look????? I'm officially old enough to want tech to stay the same because I just don't have the energy to learn a new interface.

We discovered that we had officially run out of space on the archive's zotero, so Orion went ahead and chipped in for an unlimited plan. We now have the room to archive ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. Look out, world.

(And if you have content you want on the archive, send it to us.)

Working on the Alterhuman Archives zotero today with Orion. I don't have many spoons in me because of chronic pain, but I'm attaching some of the Wayback Machine archive links we still need, and uploading some new stuff. Slow n' steady. 🐢

7 AI tools I actually use for literature reviews:

1. Elicit – paper screening
2. Consensus – evidence summaries
3. SciSpace – chat with PDFs
4. Litmaps – citation mapping
5. Perplexity – quick context
6. Claude – synthesis drafts
7. Zotero – still the citation king with AI plugins

Zotero might be good, I used it for RPG studies. :) It's very good at parsing pdf headers.
