I'm seeing a lot of something that's been disappointing me lately. I've been seeing "revolution art" made by AI or music artists using AI images as cover pictures or as music videos. Flat out no exceptions, you can NOT be an ally while using AI image/video generators

Was watching Akshon's new video on AI in gaming and realized thag the excuse of "Using AI for placeholder art" is really weak? Like, if it's never intended to be in the final game why even go throigh the effort of generating it then??? Just put a green box with the words PLACEHOLDER or something

Seeing more smaller musicians use AI. I get it. Paying for a music video, art, etc isnt cheap especially when you aint making much money. Its annoying tho because the last 20 or so years of indie musicians involved lots of community to make shit happen. The AI stuff kinda kills the community

Computer animation is not the same thing as video created by generative AI. "Toy Story" (1995) was computer animation and had nothing to do with generative AI. Stop proclaiming the work of human digital artists to be AI when all you know is that it's digital art.

<shrug> I have found uses for AI. Mainly in basic data analysis, transcribing hours of video I don't want to watch again, and generating quick line-art from photos I've taken for writing medical device IFUs.
It's better than clippy, but worse than a human (but it IS faster).
